Why choose between academic excellence and freedom of movement when you can have both?

Le Sallay Discovery is an innovative blended learning middle school where live online classes are combined with 3-week in-person sessions. With an academically challenging curriculum and personalized learning paths, it is uniquely suited to the need of families on the move.

How Does Blended Learning Work

  • Online Sessions with Live Instruction
Your child will study from home for eight weeks in a row. Distance learning includes 5-6 highly interactive classes a day. Each class has 3-6 students and every student has a personalized learning plan. Our teachers are highly fluent in virtual education.
  • In-person Sessions in USA and France
Four times a year students travel to our campuses in Massachusets and Burgundy, France for three weeks of classroom learning and social opportunities. On-site sessions include classes, sports, team-building activities, field trips, and visits by renowned scholars.
  • Support of Socio-Emotional Development
On -site sessions help kids connect with their teachers and peers. They build friendships and create support systems they can rely on when moving from one place to another. Our program is built to improve socialization and interpersonal communication.
  • Seamless Transition from Online to Offline and Back
The learning paths we set for our students are consistent and built around individual learning goals. Every online and on-site session aims to provide the child with the best opportunities for growth.
50%
of our students and teachers live in different time zones. We build our schedule to accommodate everyone's learning needs
60%
of Le Sallay Academy's students have moved with their families at least twice in the past two years
100%
of our students go on to study in the high schools of their choice (e.g. York School in Monterey and Athenian School in San Francisco) prepared for rigorous studies.

Why Digital Nomads Choose Le Sallay

  • With us you can study from anywhere! Literally

The number of remote workers has increased dramatically over the past few years. Why tie yourself down to a place that's too expensive or not too comfortable just because it happens to have a good school nearby? With blended learning, you can give your child an excellent education AND give your family the freedom to move as frequently as you like.
Some of our students change two timezones in two months and this doesn't affect their studies in the slightest. We develop continuous learning plans and ensure a supportive environment that helps students to feel secure and comfortable even in the midst of relocation chaos.

  • Our curriculum is focused on academic excellence, not on ideology
We are proud of our international identity and our approach is rooted in a tried and trusted European academic tradition. We value critical thinking, logic, curiosity, and the love of learning. And this is what we teach. There is no place for curriculum wars at Le Sallay.
We don't tell kids what to think and we don't impose on them any views about the world, their country, or any social issue. Our teachers never bring their politics into the classroom. Our students' parents don't have to worry about their kids getting indoctrinated or biased in favor of any political view.

  • Our STEM program is built for advanced learners and our humanities curriculum is truly international
Our approach to STEM is informed by the strong educational tradition of Eastern European countries. We challenge kids who excel in math and sciences to work to the best of their ability and provide them with training similar to coaching for Math Olympiads and advanced math programs.
Our Humanities curriculum is not limited to American history and English literature, We incorporate voices and stories from all over the world from Nigeria and Italy to Japan and Sweden.

Le Sallay’s academically rigorous program has proven particularly good for high-achieving students who need additional challenges. It also attracts children who have grown disengaged in their schools or feel like they don’t fit in, by helping them rediscover the love of learning and encouraging socialization and meaningful relationships. Providing differentiated study plans and psychological support, the Academy is a great choice for students with diverse learning needs, as well as those whose families are frequently on the move.
