Position: Diverse and Accessible Learning Coordinator
Le Sallay International Academy, an innovative hybrid school for middle-school students, seeks a full-time coordinator in middle school to begin July 1, 2023.
Job Summary
Provides individualized instruction for students needing academic support across math and
language arts skills. Meets with students individually or in small group settings in a recurring
format to meet individual areas of growth and need. Collaborates with classroom teachers to provide needed support and accommodations for students receiving intervention, along with recommendations on best inclusion practices. Progress monitors student growth.

As a blended learning school Le Sallay expects the coordinator to be available to work both
online during the online sessions and to travel and be present at the on-site sessions (four three-week sessions a year).
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required)
  • Must possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education.
  • Experience working with children aged 10-16 in an educational setting.
  • Exhibit the desire to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and parents.

Primary Duties
  • Developing and implementing individual strategies for students with diverse learning needs such as ADHD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, autistic spectrum etc.
  • Consulting teachers on the best practices to implement in their classrooms for students with diverse learning needs. Co-teaching classes if needed both online and on-site.
  • Working with teachers on making their instructional materials accessible for students with diverse learning needs.
  • Developing intervention session plans and supplementary materials compatible with Le Sallay's instructional philosophy; providing individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student and subgroups of students both online and on-site.
  • Providing supplementary instruction to support diverse learning needs, when needed. For example, ESL courses, and reading and math intervention.
  • Communicating with the Heads of Departments on student progress.
  • Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of the programs implemented for students with diverse learning needs in collaboration with the Heads of Departments and Lead of Academics.
  • Providing training to staff on best practices for diverse learners.
  • Administering testing in accordance with departments needs
  • Evaluating the academic growth of students, and keeping necessary records.
  • Interviewing potential students to evaluate language levels and suitability for our school.
  • Providing consultation to families of diverse learners as requested by the Lead of Academics.
  • Attending 4 x 3-week on-site sessions to give in-person instruction and collaborate with teachers.
  • Supervising students in assigned out-of-classroom activities during the working day on-site.
Other Work Responsibilities
  • Responsibility for all documentation needed for international travel to attend on-site sessions including passports and visas. Support is provided as needed by the school for visas.
  • Participation in various student activities which occur in school including clubs, events, and all school activities modified according to teaching load.
  • Attendance of staff development programs, curriculum development meetings, etc.
  • Participation in student activities including clubs, events, etc. according to workload.
  • Writing letters of recommendation for schools or other activities.
Additional Activities when Relevant and Possible
  • Cooperation with the marketing team to facilitate social media content.
  • Sharing experience and expertise in events within and outside of school.
  • Collaboration with teachers from other Le Sallay Schools to ensure consistency in the school's values and educational mission.
  • Providing assistance and supervision to students during transfers as needed.

Le Sallay International Academy offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience and provides a significant monthly stipend to subsidize expenses associated with healthcare. The school pays for all travel to and from in-person sessions as well as providing full room and board at the campus.

Instructors at Le Sallay typically teach four classes each quarter for a total of 16-20 hours a week. Each class is limited to 7 students.

Because students come from multiple time zones, instructors teach within the time range from 8 am to 4 pm Eastern time during the school week.

The four 3-week in-person sessions are a critical element of the educational program. Instructors must be available to participate fully in all of them.

Students at Le Sallay are multilingual, some of whom are not native English speakers.
